CFD modeling of heat transfer in a rectangular channel with dimplepin finning [PDF]

open access: yesTekhnologiya i Konstruirovanie v Elektronnoi Apparature, 2013
Using the CFD modeling method, the authors have investigated conjugate heat transfer in a rectangular channel with dimple-pin finning with hight of pins, depth of cavities and Reynolds number values varying in the range, characteristic for heat ...

A dual-solver CFD model for conjugate heat transfer in continuous thermal processing

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2023
High temperature heat treatment of powders is a common operation in the manufacturing of a range of commercial products. Often, powders are heated or cooled in discrete quantities while being conveyed through a continuous furnace or oven, where a certain

Development of a Model for Performance Analysis of a Honeycomb Thermal Energy Storage for Solar Power Microturbine Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Solar power microturbines are required to produce steady power despite the fluctuating solar radiation, with concerns on the dispatchability of such plants where thermal energy storage may offer a solution to address the issue.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

A synergistic combination of Asymptotic Computational Fluid Dynamics and ANN for the estimation of unknown heat flux from fin heat transfer

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2018
This paper deals with conjugate heat transfer from a rectangular fin. The problem consists of mild steel (250 × 150 × 6 mm) fin placed vertically on aluminium base (250 × 150 × 4 mm).

Coupled CFD and FE Thermal Mechanical Simulation of Disc Brake [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
yesTo achieve a better solution of disc brake heat transfer problem under heavy duty applications, the accurate prediction of transient field of heat transfer coefficient is significant. Therefore, an appropriate coupling mechanism between flow field and

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

A numerical method for multiphysics simulations based on hierarchical Cartesian grids

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2015
We present a numerical method based on hierarchical Cartesian grids for the simulation of multiphysics problems, here in particular for the conjugate heat transfer between a fluid and a solid.
