CONJUGATIONS WITH GLUTATHIONE. THE ENZYMIC CONJUGATION OF SOME CHLOROCYCLOHEXENES [PDF]
1. alpha-3,4,5,6-Tetrachlorocyclohex-1-ene and gamma-2,3,4,5,6-pentachlorocyclohex-1-ene are conjugated with glutathione in vitro by a rat-liver enzyme that is probably glutathione S-aryltransferase. 2. Chlorocyclohexane and the alpha-, beta-, gamma- and delta-isomers of hexachlorocyclohexane were not substrates for rat-liver glutathione S ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Insight into ortho-boronoaldehyde conjugation via a FRET-based reporter assay
Ortho-boronoaldehydes react with amine-based nucleophiles with dramatically increased rates and product stabilities, relative to unfunctionalised benzaldehydes, leading to exciting applications across biological and material chemistry.

The Conjugation Stress of Ligand via Metal Core as the Cause of Changes in the Reactivity of Coordinated 1-Hetero-1,3-Dienes [PDF]
Using quantum-chemical calculations carried out for interpretation of the experimentally discovered reactivity of 1-hetero-1,3-dienes that are mono- and bidentally coordinated with the transition metal core, we have revealed that the difference in ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Optical and digital phase conjugation techniques for fiber nonlinearity compensation [PDF]
We discuss recent progress on the use of optical and digital phase conjugation techniques for nonlinearity compensation in optical fiber links. We compare the achievable performance gain of phase conjugated twin wave applied in two polarization states ...

Linear conjugation problems [PDF]
We investigate the linear conjugation problem for polyanalytic functions using function theory and Cauchy-type integrals. We explicitly construct a canonical matrix-function by using the recurrence procedure and use it to study the linear conjugation ...

Retrovirus molecular conjugates [PDF]
Retrovirus-derived vectors are currently the preferred vectors used for human gene therapy protocols. Serious safety concerns persist, however, which are specifically related to the formation of a replication-competent virus, and no synthesis method currently employed precludes its formation with certainty.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
