Bryophyte conservation for the future.

open access: yes, 1992
he conservation process involves recognizing and listing rare and decreasing species, recording their distribution, biology and specific threats, proposing conservation programmes, and executing these programmes.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Effects of individual and group factors on the social relationships of Budgerigars

open access: yesAvian Research
Social animals often form dynamic relationships with group members, which have been associated with increased social learning, survival and reproductive success.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Habitat associations of freshwater sawfish (Pristis microdon) and Northern River sharks (Glyphis sp. C): including genetic analysis of P. microdon across northern Australia

open access: yes, 2008
This study investigated the ecology, morphology, habitat utilisation and population genetics of the vulnerable (Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (EPBC) 1999) or critically endangered (IUCN) Freshwater Sawfish (Pristis microdon ...

Where's the conservation in conservation genetics?

open access: yes, 2008
The molecular techniques for producing the type and quantity of data required for conservation studies are now available, and the number of statistical methods applicable to such genetic data is constantly growing.
