In this work, we consider extended irreversible thermodynamics in assuming that the entropy density is a function of both common thermodynamic variables and their higher-order time derivatives.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

One of the authors has developed a numerical simulator of airlift pump to solve governing equations represented by the drift flux model. The solver is based on the finite volume method which is known as SIMPLER algorithm for numerical scheme.

In order to predict the high-temperature deformation behavior of hypereutectoid steel, the hot compression tests were conducted in the strain rate range of (0.001~1) s-1 and the deformation temperature range of (950~1100)°C.

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Controlling the grain size is an essential issue in the metal plastic working processes. Based on the consensus view that grain boundaries are impassable borders for dislocations and that the number of dislocations within a grain affects the stress ...

Extended concept of representative directions to describe inelastic behaviour of electrospun polymers [PDF]
The concept of representative directions allows one to generalize onedimensional uniaxial material models to more general constitutive equations, suitable for arbitrary multi-axial loading scenarios.

The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Strain-Rate and Stress-Rate Models of Nonlinear Viscoelastic Materials
The paper is devoted to the modeling of nonlinear viscoelastic materials. The constitutive equations are considered in differential form via relations between strain, stress, and their derivatives in the Lagrangian description.
