Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Study About Buckling Phenomenon in Perforated Thin Steel Plates Employing Computational Modeling and Constructal Design Method

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
Perforated steel thin plates are commonly used in structural engineering. Due to their geometric characteristics, these panels can suffer the undesired buckling phenomenon.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Construction design

open access: yes, 2021
The Mihouse urban project consists of common areas with buildings with four to five stories formed by groups of apartments. These buildings can be replicated depending on the place, the density requirements and the types of urban blocks. The whole residential condominium would be composed by 30 buildings surrounded by eight parks destined for different

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Numerical and Geometric Analysis of Side-Wall Inclination Angle Effects on Longitudinal Hat-Stiffeners in Steel Plates

open access: yesApplied Mechanics
Thin steel plates with stiffeners are widely employed in several branches of engineering, combining mechanical strength with low weight and serving as both structural and cladding components.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.
