Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Semiparametric estimation of the dependence parameter of the error terms in multivariate regression [PDF]

open access: yes
A semiparametric method is developed for estimating the dependence parameter and the joint distribution of the error term in the multivariate linear regression model.

Continuous dependence of semilinear Petrovsky equation

open access: yes, 2017
In this study, we obtain the continuous dependence on the coefficients of solutions of semilinear Petrovsky equation. Such models are involved in various fields of mathematical physics likewise geophysical and oceanic applications.

Mathematical analysis of a viscoelastic-gravitational layered earth model for magmatic intrusion in the dynamic case

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2015
Volcanic areas present a lower effective viscosity than usually in the Earth's crust. It makes necessary to consider inelastic properties in deformation modelling.

Continuous dependence of recurrent solutions for stochastic differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2020
Existence, uniqueness and asymptotic stability of recurrent solutions have been investigated extensively for semi-linear stochastic differential equations.

Do continuous assessment results affect final exam outcomes? Evidence from a microeconomics course

open access: yesMultidisciplinary Journal for Education, Social and Technological Sciences, 2017
Continuous assessment aims to enhance student learning and understanding of a subject and so achieve better educational outcomes. We investigated how continuous assessment grades affected final exam grades.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Continuous Dependence of Attractors on Parameters of Non-Autonomous Dynamical Systems and Infinite Iterated Function Systems

open access: yes, 2007
The paper is dedicated to the study of the problem of continuous dependence of compact global attractors on parameters of non-autonomous dynamical systems and infinite iterated function systems (IIFS).

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Modeling long-range dependent Gaussian processes with application in continuous-time financial models

open access: yes
This paper considers a class of nonstationary Gaussian processes with possible long-range dependence (LRD) and intermittency. The author proposes a new estimation method to simultaneously estimate both the LRD and intermittency parameter.
