Direct torque control for dual three-phase induction motor drives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A direct torque control (DTC) strategy for dual three-phase induction motor drives is discussed in this paper. The induction machine has two sets of stator three-phase windings spatially shifted by 30 electrical degrees.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Contribution to the design of continuous -time Sigma - Delta Modulators based on time delay elements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The research carried out in this thesis is focused in the development of a new class of data converters for digital radio. There are two main architectures for communication receivers which perform a digital demodulation.

Novel radar signal to efficiently utilise spectrum based on continuous-phase frequency-shift keying

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Aiming at the problem of high side-band spectrum for a general frequency-shift keying (FSK) radar signal, this study introduces a novel radar FSK signal based on continuous-phase frequency-shift keying (CPFSK) used in communication systems.

Arbitrary Phase Modulation of General Transmittance Function of First-Order Optical Comb Filter with Ordered Sets of Quarter- and Half-Wave Plates

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Here we theoretically and experimentally demonstrated the arbitrary phase modulation of a general transmittance function (GTF) of the first-order optical comb filter based on a polarization-diversity loop structure, which employed two ordered waveplate ...

Continuous Charge Modulated Diagonal Phase in Manganites [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2004
We present a novel ground state that explain the continuous modulated charge diagonal order recently observed in manganese oxides, at hole densities $x$ larger than one half. In this diagonal phase the charge is modulated with a predominant Fourier component inversely proportional to $1-x$.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Combined trellis coded quantization/continuous phase modulation (TCQ/TCCPM) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
In this paper, we applied Continuous Phase Frequency Shift Keying (CPFSK) to Trellis Coded Quantization/Modulation (TCQ/TCM) and thus we called Trellis Coded Quantization/ Continuous Phase Modulation (TCQ/TCCPM) for this new sys-tem.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...
