Controller synthesis for networked control systems

Automatica, 2010
This paper presents a discrete-time model for networked control systems (NCSs) that incorporates all network phenomena: time-varying sampling intervals, packet dropouts and time-varying delays that may be both smaller and larger than the sampling interval.

Control synthesis in (max,+) systems

EFTA 2003. 2003 IEEE Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation. Proceedings (Cat. No.03TH8696), 2004
Control synthesis is an important problem in the field of discrete event systems. The subclass of Timed event graphs can be modelled by state equations using the (max,+) algebra. This document proposes an approach of constraint propagation type using Kleene's star in order to solve the control synthesis problem.

Synthesis of Process Control Systems

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 1978
A systematic logical procedure for the synthesis of control systems for processes is presented. The approach is based on a causal modeling of processes, represented by the cause-and-effect graph. Control systems are generated by propagating the constraint variable on the cause-and-effect graph of the process.

Optimal synthesis of control systems

Proceedings of the 40th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.01CH37228), 2002
A new approach to the synthesis problem of optimal feedback controls is proposed. An algorithm of operating optimal controllers able to calculate values of optimal feedbacks during each particular control process in real time is described. Under incomplete and inexact information, a problem of optimal observation is introduced.

Synthesis of controllers for symmetric systems

International Journal of Control, 2010
This article deals with supervisory control problem for coloured Petri (CP) nets. Considering a CP-net, we build a condensed version of the ordinary state-space, namely the symbolic reachability graph (SRG). This latter graph allows to cope with state-space explosion problem for symmetric systems.
