Detection of Grapevine leafroll-associated virus 7 using real time qRT-PCR and conventional RT-PCR
Journal of Virological Methods, 2012Nine isolates of Grapevine leafroll-associated virus 7 (GLRaV-7) from diverse geographical regions were sequenced to design more sensitive molecular diagnostic tools. The coat protein (CP) and heat shock protein 70 homologue (HSP70h) genes of these nine isolates were sequenced.

AbstractThe t(2;3)(q13;p25) occurs in a subgroup of follicular‐patterned thyroid tumors and leads to a fusion of the genes encoding for the thyroid‐specific transcription factor paired box 8 (PAX8) and the peroxisome proliferator‐activated receptor gamma (PPARγ).

Detection of hepatitis C virus-RNA (HCV-RNA) in serum or in plasma is considered a reliable marker for ongoing HCV infection. HCV-RNA was measured routinely in plasma collected from heparinized blood of patients with chronic hepatitis C and varying results were found. In this study, HCV-RNA was detected in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and

Potato yellow vein virus (PYVV) is considered a quarantine pathogen in the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO) area. This virus is widespread and damaging at its centre of origin in South America. Current detection methods are either time-consuming or difficult to interpret. Recently advances in biotechnology and molecularbiology have played a significant role in development of serological andmolecular assays for detection of plant viruses. However, specificity andsensitivity of them may show variation according to pathogens and hosts. Inthis study, Grapevine fanleaf nepovirus(GFLV) which was the most prevalent viral agent

We investigated bone marrow cells of 70 acute lymphoblastic leukemia children by conventional cytogenetics (CC), fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) methods. CC and RT-PCR for fusion genes BCR/ABL, MLL/AF4, E2A/PBX1, TEL/AML1 were performed at diagnosis in each patient.

Rabies is an enzootic and fatal disease and is still a major problem in developing countries. Ante mortem diagnosis in human cases is necessary for medical management of the patient and to ensure appropriate post-exposure treatment of contacts. Both conventional RT-PCR and Real time PCR (TaqMan) have been described for the detection of rabies virus RNA

Real-time RT-PCR (TaqMan) assays were developed for the specific detection of Beet necrotic yellow vein virus (BNYVV). The two assays designed were a broad-spectrum one that detected RNA 2 from all types and a second designed to detect types containing RNA 5.
