Dynamic traffic assignment of cooperative adaptive cruise control

open access: yesTransportation Research Part C: Emerging Technologies, 2018
Abstract Advances in connected and automated vehicle technologies have resulted in new vehicle applications, such as cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC). Microsimulation models have shown significant increases in capacity and stability due to CACC, but most previous work has relied on microsimulation.

Food intake of early juvenile western Baltic cod (Gadus morhua) during settlement transition

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract This study examines the gut contents of 203 early juvenile Atlantic cod [17–101 mm ± 18.48 mm standard deviation (SD)] from the Western Baltic Sea (ICES Subdivision 22) collected between 2020 and 2022. According to the observed prey (proportion of pelagic, intermediate and benthic items) in the cod guts, settlement transition from a pelagic to

Dynamic Predictor-based Extended Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control

open access: yesIFAC-PapersOnLine, 2019
Abstract In this paper, we present a dynamic predictor-based controller, which is applied to a platoon of vehicles under a modified extended cooperative adaptive cruise control introduced in Montanaro et al. (2014). We show the advantages that the dynamic predictor control law offers. A comparison with the control without predictor is made.

Sampled-Data Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control for String-Stable Vehicle Platooning with Communication Delays: A Linear Matrix Inequality Approach

open access: yesMachines
This study aims to propose a sampled-data control technique, utilizing a linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, to achieve string-stable vehicle platooning in a cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC) system with communication delays.

Understanding Family Dynamics Through a Neurocognitive Lens

open access: yesJournal of Family Theory &Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Individual family members impact each other and the family system at the physiological, brain, behavioral, phenomenological, and social level. Previous research used established methods, such as self‐report and behavioral observation, to provide thorough insights into family dynamics.

Trajectory Planning for Multiple Autonomous Vehicles at Short‐Distance Tandem Signalized Intersections Based on Rule‐Free Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems
High‐level autonomous vehicles (AVs) have more possibilities for improving traffic efficiency. The improvement of traffic efficiency for mixed flow at near‐saturated short‐distance tandem signalized intersections (STSI) needs attention.

All at Sea? Externalities and Cargo Diversion in the Wake of Brexit

open access: yesOxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT How does withdrawing from a free trade agreement affect maritime cargo volumes? Are there external effects on freight transport between third‐party countries? Using Brexit as a case study, in a difference‐in‐differences analysis of 2013–2024 port‐level data, I find a 21% decrease in EU‐UK roll‐on roll‐off (Ro‐Ro) volumes, and a 60% decrease in

Basic income trials and the politics of scale: A research agenda

open access: yesPolicy Studies Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract The growing popularity of basic income has led to extensive trials of the policy in numerous settings across the world. However, analysis of the politics of basic income, and in particular the political dynamics preceding and resulting from trial programs, lags. In response, we propose a research agenda that uses political scale to investigate
