1995Coptis chinensis F. (family Ranunculaceae) is a perennial herbaceous plant, 10 to 13 cm in height. Its stem is rhizomatic and often branched. It is an endemic species distributed in Anhui, Guizhou, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Zhejiang Provinces of China. It is a very important medicinal plant in China.
