In vivo anti-tumour activity of corilagin on Hep3B hepatocellular carcinoma
Phytomedicine, 2010We have investigated the potential in vivo anti-tumour activity of corilagin using the Hep3B hepatocellular carcinoma cell line and an athymic nude mice xenograft model. The purity of corilagin was confirmed by high performance liquid chromatographic analysis.

Corilagin Attenuates Aerosol Bleomycin-Induced Experimental Lung Injury [PDF]
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a progressing lethal disease with few clinically effective therapies. Corilagin is a tannin derivative which shows anti-inflammatory and antifibrotics properties and is potentiated in treating IPF. Here, we investigated the effect of corilagin on lung injury following bleomycin exposure in an animal model of ...

Total Synthesis of (−)-Corilagin
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2008The synthesis of corilagin was achieved by the integration of the development of the oxidative coupling of the symmetrically protected gallates and the temporarily ring-opened synthetic route for the 3,6-hexahydroxydiphenoyl (HHDP) bridge. This is the first total synthesis of the 1C4/B-ellagitannins, which contain ring-flipped glucose.

Antihypertensive effect of corilagin in the rat
Canadian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology, 1995The antihypertensive effect of corilagin, one of the ellagitannins purified from the seeds of Euphoria longana Lam. (Sapindaceae), was investigated in the spontaneously hypertensive rat (SHR). Administration of corilagin into conscious SHR at 5 mg/kg produced an antihypertensive effect equivalent to that induced by 1 mg/kg of guanethidine.

Corilagin attenuates osteoclastic osteolysis by enhancing HO‐1 and inhibiting ROS
Journal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, 2022AbstractChinese herbal medicine has well‐established therapeutic effects in various diseases. Corilagin (Cor), a gallic acid tannin in Phyllanthus niruri L., has anti‐inflammatory and antioxidant effects in many diseases. However, its role in osteoclast‐related bone diseases has not been determined.

Corilagin Attenuates Radiation-Induced Brain Injury in Mice
Molecular Neurobiology, 2015Cranial irradiation-induced inflammation plays a critical role in the initiation and progression of radiation-induced brain injury (RIBI). Anti-inflammation treatment may provide therapeutic benefits. Corilagin (beta-1-O-galloyl-3, 6-(R)-hexahydroxydiphenoyl-D-glucose, C27H22O18) was a novel member of the tannin family with anti-inflammatory properties

Sensitization of Hep3B hepatoma Cells to Cisplatin and Doxorubicin by Corilagin
Phytotherapy Research, 2013The anticancer action of gallotannins is a well-developed topic. We have demonstrated the in vivo antitumour activity of corilagin on Hep3B hepatoma using the xenograft athymic nude mice model. Here, we further report the potential sensitization of Hep3B hepatoma cells to cisplatin and doxorubicin by corilagin. Our results showed that corilagin is able

Corilagin is a polyphenol has been identified anti-inflammatory properties. However, the anti-atherosclerotic effects of corilagin are not well understood. Here, we evaluated the anti-atherosclerotic effects and the underlying mechanisms of corilagin. We also verified whether corilagin can reverse atherosclerosis by regulating matrix metalloproteinase (

Corilagin protects the acute lung injury by ameliorating the apoptosis pathway
This study elucidates the protective effect of corilagin in acute lung injury rat model. Lung injury induced by ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) model was established by isolating the lungs from the rats. Ischemia was produced for the duration of 1h and thereafter reperfusion was done for 90min in isolated lung in presence and absence of corilagin (20 and ...
