Homotopical Dynamics II: Hopf invariants, smoothings and the Morse complex [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1998
The ambient framed bordism class of the connecting manifold of two consecutive critical points of a Morse-Smale function is estimated by means of a certain Hopf invariant. Applications include new examples of non-smoothable Poincare duality spaces as well as an extension of the Morse complex.

A companion to the preclinical common data elements for phenotyping seizures and epilepsy in rodent models. A report of the TASK3‐WG1C: Phenotyping working group of the ILAE/AES joint translational task force

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Epilepsy is a heterogeneous disorder characterized by spontaneous seizures and behavioral comorbidities. The underlying mechanisms of seizures and epilepsy across various syndromes lead to diverse clinical presentation and features. Similarly, animal models of epilepsy arise from numerous dissimilar inciting events.

Quality of Life Related to Visual Function in Three Young Adults with Mucopolysaccharidoses

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2003
The systemic mucopolysaccharidoses are complex syndromes, which may include corneal clouding as a mechanism leading to decreased vision and hence decreased quality of life.

Homotopical Dynamics: Suspension and Duality [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1999
Flow type suspension and homotopy suspension agree for attractor-repellor homotopy data. The connection maps associated in Conley index theory to an attractor-repellor decomposition with respect to the direct flow and its inverse are Spanier-Whitehead duals in the stably parallelizable context and are duals modulo a certain Thom construction in general.

The Ets Transcription Factor EHF as a Regulator of Cornea Epithelial Cell Identity*

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2013
Background: Cornea development requires precise, coordinated gene expression; few regulators have been characterized. Results: Ets factor EHF collaborates with Kruppel-like factors to activate cornea epithelial genes while repressing non-epithelial genes.

Clinical and microbiological profile of patients with fungal keratitis demonstrating unusual yeast-like structures in potassium hydroxide with calcofluor white preparation of corneal scraping

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmic Inflammation and Infection
Background To report a case series of microbial keratitis showing atypical yeast-like structures in direct microscopy which were culture-negative but subsequently identified as yeast cells by PCR and DNA sequencing. Main text This is a retrospective, non-

Nerves and neovessels inhibit each other in the cornea.

open access: yesInvestigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, 2013
PURPOSE To evaluate the regulatory cross-talk of the vascular and neural networks in the cornea. METHODS b-FGF micropellets (80 ng) were implanted in the temporal side of the cornea of healthy C57Bl/6 mice. On day 7, blood vessels (hemangiogenesis) and
