We present a real-time, diffraction-aware sound–effect framework for VR/game environments that balances physical plausibility and computational efficiency. The core idea is to approximate obstacle-induced wave behavior by (i) interior curl vectors

Automatic Building Boundary Extraction from Point Cloud Data [PDF]
This paper presents a methodology and solution for extracting building footprints from three-dimensional point cloud data. The extraction and normalisation of building boundaries represent a fundamental approach for three-dimensional modelling of ...

Electrospun Wood‐Derived Biopolymers as Electrodes in Electrochemical Energy Storage Technologies
Electrospinning transforms wood‐derived cellulose and lignin into architecturally defined, binder‐free carbon electrodes with tuneable porosity and functionality. This review shows how fibre design enables decoupled charge and mass transport, enhancing performance across battery systems, while identifying key challenges in spinnability, scalability ...

An Improved A*-Based Path-Planning Framework for Facility Agricultural Robots
Facility agricultural robots operating in greenhouse environments often encounter narrow passages, dense obstacle distributions, and frequent path-direction changes, which increase the difficulty of achieving efficient and smooth autonomous navigation ...

Application of Artificial Neural Networks to Ship Detection from X-Band Kompsat-5 Imagery
For ship detection, X-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery provides very useful data, in that ship targets look much brighter than surrounding sea clutter due to the corner-reflection effect. However, there are many phenomena which bring out false

Unfolding homoclinic connections formed by corner intersections in piecewise-smooth maps [PDF]
The stable and unstable manifolds of an invariant set of a piecewise-smooth map are themselves piecewise-smooth. Consequently, as parameters of a piecewise-smooth map are varied, an invariant set can develop a homoclinic connection when its stable manifold intersects a non-differentiable point of its unstable manifold (or vice-versa).

Interface Engineering via Sb2Te3 Deposition Enables High‐Performance SWCNT Film Thermoelectrics
SWCNTs are promising for flexible thermoelectrics but suffer from low performance. Here, cold‐pressed SWCNT films combined with deposited Sb2Te3 form engineered interfaces that enhance charge transport and energy filtering. The composite achieves a high power factor (25.82 µW cm−1 K−2) and delivers a power density of 3 mW cm−2 at ΔT = 40 K, with ...

Efficiency improvement and evaluation of a centrifugal pump with vaned diffuser
In order to enhance the efficiency of centrifugal pump, the structure of a centrifugal pump with vaned diffuser, whose specific speed is 190, was numerically improved by trimming back-blades of impeller and smoothing sharp corner in annular chamber.

Electro-osmotic non-isothermal flow in rectangular channels with smoothed corners
Microchannel heat sinks are able to provide high cooling capabilities in terms of heat flux rates. This makes them particularly interesting for the thermal management of electronic devices, owing to the latter’s ever-increasing compactness and, consequently, power density.
