Coronavirus infection of polarized epithelial cells
Epithelial cells are the first host cells to be infected by incoming c oronaviruses. Recent observations in vitro show that coronaviruses are released from a specific side of these polarized cells, and this polarized release might be important for the spread of the infection in vivo.

B cells and systemic sclerosis interstitial lung disease
Interstitial lung disease is an important complication of systemic sclerosis (SSc‐ILD) with high mortality and morbidity. Recent clinical studies in SSc‐ILD have led to FDA‐approved therapies in SSc‐ILD. Importantly, evidence from these studies has been extrapolated to guide management of interstitial lung diseases of other systemic autoimmune ...

Serum cytokine profiling differentiates underlying diseases in cytokine storm syndrome
Objective Cytokine storm syndrome (CSS), commonly associated with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), is a fatal hyperinflammatory syndrome. Differentiating the underlying diseases responsible for CSS is essential for timely therapeutic decisions. This study explored the clinical usefulness of serum cytokine profiling in distinguishing underlying

Chemically Synthesized LRAD3‐D1 Interacts with N‐Terminal Domain of SARS‐CoV‐2 Spike Protein
Chemical synthesis, calcium‐templated in‐vitro folding and competitive ELISA assay reveal that only domain 1 of the LRAD3 ectodomain interacts with the severe acute respiratory syndrome‐related corona virus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) spike NTD, while domains 2 and 3 do not, providing valuable insight into ACE2‐independent viral entry pathways that may contribute ...
