A structural basis for the strain‐dependent UDP‐sugar specificity of glycosyltransferase C from the Limosilactobacillus reuteri accessory secretion system

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section D, Volume 81, Issue 12, Page 708-717, December 2025.
X‐ray crystal structures of glycosyltransferase C from the Limosilactobacillus reuteri 100‐23 (LrGtfC100‐23) accessory secretion system were determined in its apo form and in complexes with UDP and with UDP‐N‐acetylglucosamine, which revealed candidate residues involved in strain‐specific recognition of UDP‐sugars.

Patchoulol Production with Metabolically Engineered Corynebacterium glutamicum [PDF]

open access: yesGenes, 2018
Patchoulol is a sesquiterpene alcohol and an important natural product for the perfume industry. Corynebacterium glutamicum is the prominent host for the fermentative production of amino acids with an average annual production volume of ~6 million tons. Due to its robustness and well established large-scale fermentation, C.

Recent Progress on Chemical Production From Non-food Renewable Feedstocks Using Corynebacterium glutamicum

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2020
Due to the non-renewable nature of fossil fuels, microbial fermentation is considered a sustainable approach for chemical production using glucose, xylose, menthol, and other complex carbon sources represented by lignocellulosic biomass.

Safety and efficacy of a feed additive consisting of l‐tryptophan produced using Corynebacterium glutamicum KCCM 80346 for all animal species (CJ Europe GmbH)

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Following a request from the European Commission, EFSA was asked to deliver a scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of L‐tryptophan produced by fermentation using the genetically modified strain of Corynebacterium glutamicum, KCCM 80346, as a nutritional additive in feed for all animal species and categories.

Corynebacterium glutamicum Metabolic Engineering with CRISPR Interference (CRISPRi)

open access: yesACS Synthetic Biology, 2016
Corynebacterium glutamicum is an important organism for the industrial production of amino acids. Metabolic pathways in this organism are usually engineered by conventional methods such as homologous recombination, which depends on rare double-crossover ...

In Vivo Biosynthesis and Direct Incorporation of Noncanonical Amino Acids into Proteins

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 26, Issue 22, November 17, 2025.
This review evaluates engineered (semi)autonomous cell systems for the biosynthesis and incorporation of noncanonical amino acids (ncAAs) into proteins. While semi‐autonomous cells convert supplied precursors into ncAAs autonomous cells integrate biosynthetic pathways that produce these building blocks intracellularly.

Pathway Analysis and Metabolic Engineering in Corynebacterium glutamicum [PDF]

open access: yesBiological Chemistry, 2000
The gram-positive bacterium Corynebacterium glutamicum is used for the industrial production of amino acids, e.g. of L-glutamate and L-lysine. During the last 15 years, genetic engineering and amplification of genes have become fascinating methods for studying metabolic pathways in greater detail and for the construction of strains with the desired ...
