Six flavor quark matter

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
Macroscopic nuggets of quark matter were proposed several decades ago as a candidate for dark matter. The formation of these objects in the early universe requires the QCD phase transition to be first order — a requirement that is not satisfied in the ...

Cosmological singularity

open access: yes, 2009
The talk at international conference in honor of Ya. B. Zeldovich 95th Anniversary, Minsk, Belarus, April 2009. The talk represents a review of the old results and contemporary development on the problem of cosmological singularity.Comment: to appear in ...

Coset cosmology [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
Abstract We show that the potential of Nambu-Goldstone bosons can have two or more local minima e.g. at antipodal positions in the vacuum manifold. This happens in many models of composite Higgs and of composite Dark Matter. Trigonometric potentials lead to unusual features, such as symmetry non-restoration at high temperature.

Work Versus Force: Simultaneous Processes for Describing Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Achieving a unified description of interactions remains an open challenge in theoretical physics, which currently describes four fundamental forces. This situation may be viewed differently when interactions are formulated in terms of processes (work as actio) rather than forces (force as actio), not only at the macroscopic level but also at ...

Bianchi Type V Viscous Fluid Cosmological Models in Presence of Decaying Vacuum Energy

open access: yes, 2012
Bianchi type V viscous fluid cosmological model for barotropic fluid distribution with varying cosmological term $\Lambda$ is investigated. We have examined a cosmological scenario proposing a variation law for Hubble parameter $H$ in the background of ...

Chameleon cosmology

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2004
The evidence for the accelerated expansion of the universe and the time-dependence of the fine-structure constant suggests the existence of at least one scalar field with a mass of order H_0. If such a field exists, then it is generally assumed that its coupling to matter must be tuned to unnaturally small values in order to satisfy the tests of the ...

Cascading cosmology [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2010
We develop a fully covariant, well-posed 5D effective action for the 6D cascading gravity brane-world model, and use this to study cosmological solutions. We obtain this effective action through the 6D decoupling limit, in which an additional scalar degree mode, , called the brane-bending mode, determines the bulk-brane gravitational interaction. The

The morphology of the oval window in Paranthropus robustus compared to humans and other modern primates

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The oval window (OW) is an opening connecting the inner and middle ear. Its area has been shown to consistently scale with body mass (BM) in primates, and has been used alongside semi‐circular canal (SCC) size to differentiate Homo sapiens and fossil hominins, including Paranthropus robustus.

Gravitational particle production of scalars: analytic and numerical approaches including early reheating

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Cosmological gravitational particle production (GPP) is a generic mechanism by which particles are produced during the inflationary epoch. In this work we consider the GPP of massive scalars in an effort to fully understand the spectrum of the produced ...
