Solution thermodynamics of methocarbamol in some ethanol + water mixtures

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2012
Apparent thermodynamic functions, Gibbs energy, enthalpy and entropy of solution and mixing, for methocarbamol in ethanol + water mixtures, were evaluated from solubility data determined at temperatures from 293.15 K to 313.15 K and from calorimetric ...

Molecular heterogeneity in aqueous cosolvent systems [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2020
Aqueous cosolvent systems (ACoSs) are mixtures of small polar molecules such as amides, alcohols, dimethyl sulfoxide, or ions in water. These liquids have been the focus of fundamental studies due to their complex intermolecular interactions as well as their broad applications in chemistry, medicine, and materials science.

Stabilization of eptifibatide by cosolvents [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2001
Eptifibatide is a potent and highly specific inhibitor of platelet receptor glycoprotein IIb/IIIa and is indicated in the treatment of acute coronary syndrome. The commercial product Integrilin(R) (eptifibatide) Injection requires a cold/refrigerator storage condition.

Evaluation of Solid–Liquid Equilibria for Ternary Pharmaceutical Compound + Water + Cyclodextrin or Its Derivative Systems with Wilson and Modified Chrastil Models

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Engineering of Japan, 2023
The solid–liquid equilibria (SLE) of ternary mixtures of pharmaceutical compound + water + solid cosolvent cyclodextrin (CD) were calculated using the Wilson equation as the activity coefficient model, to evaluate the cosolvency of CD for poorly water ...

Physicochemical Characterization and Cyclodextrin Complexation of the Anticancer Drug Lapatinib

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, Volume 2017, Issue 1, 2017., 2017
Lapatinib (LAP), the tyrosine kinase inhibitor drug with moderate bioavailability, was characterized in terms of physicochemical properties: acid‐base characteristics, lipophilicity, and solubility. The highly lipophilic nature of the drug and its extremely low water solubility (S0 = 0.82 nM) limit the development of a parenteral formulation.
