Strong Convergence Theorems for a Countable Family of Nonexpansive Mappings in Convex Metric Spaces

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2011
We introduce a new modified Halpern iteration for a countable infinite family of nonexpansive mappings {Tn} in convex metric spaces. We prove that the sequence {xn} generated by the proposed iteration is an approximating fixed point sequence of a ...

INVARIANT MEASURES CONCENTRATED ON COUNTABLE STRUCTURES

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma, 2016
Let $L$ be a countable language. We say that a countable infinite $L$

A generalization of a theorem of Hurewicz for quasi-Polish spaces [PDF]

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science, 2018
We identify four countable topological spaces $S_2$, $S_1$, $S_D$, and $S_0$ which serve as canonical examples of topological spaces which fail to be quasi-Polish. These four spaces respectively correspond to the $T_2$, $T_1$, $T_D$, and $T_0$-separation

Spectral spaces of countable Abelian lattice-ordered groups [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 2017
A compact topological space X is spectral if it is sober (i.e., every irreducible closed set is the closure of a unique singleton) and the compact open subsets of X form a basis of the topology of X, closed under finite intersections. Theorem.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Cofinitely and co-countably projective spaces

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2002
We show that X is cofinitely projective if and only if it is a finite union of Alexandroff compactatifications of discrete spaces. We also prove that X is co-countably projective if and only if X admits no disjoint infinite family of uncountable cozero ...

Countable Dense Subsets and Countable Nested Sets

open access: yes, 2007
Fuzzy set theory becomes more popular in recent years duo to its simplicity in modeling and effectiveness in control problems. In this paper, we introduce the concepts of countable dense subset and countable nested sets, investigate countable decomposition theorems and countable representation theorems in detail. These conclusions can be applied in the

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The Theory of Countable Analytical Sets [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1975
The purpose of this paper is the study of the structure of countable sets in the various levels of the analytical hierarchy of sets of reals. It is first shown that, assuming projective determinacy, there is for each odd n n a largest countable Π n 1 \Pi _n^1 set of reals,

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
