Elastic and inelastic scattering of 15N ions by 6Li nuclei at energy 81 MeV
Angular distributions of the elastic and inelastic scattering of 15N ions by 6Li nuclei were measured at the energy Elab(15N) = 81 MeV. The data were analyzed within the coupled-reaction-channels method (CRC).

Malformin A1–mediated cytotoxicity in ovarian cancer cells occurs through pyroptosis and autophagy
This study investigated the effects of the natural compound Malformin A1 (MA1) on the cytoskeleton that regulates cell proliferation and migration. Disruption of the cytoskeleton can impair these processes and promote cancer cell death. MA1 disrupted cytoskeletal organization, induced DNA damage, inflammation, activated autophagy, and pyroptosis ...

Exploring dissipative processes at high angular momentum in 58Ni+60Ni reactions
Current coupled channels (CC) models treat fusion as a coherent quantum-mechanical process, in which coupling between the collective states of the colliding nuclei influences the probability of fusion in near-barrier reactions.

Extraction of ground state deformation parameters of 154Sm via fusion barrier distribution [PDF]
Low-energy fusion dynamics, analyzed within the framework of the coupled-channels method, have been found to provide valuable structural information about the colliding systems. We re-investigated the fusion dynamics for the reaction 16O+154Sm to examine

Accurate and noninvasive prostate cancer detection using plasma‐derived extracellular vesicle RNA
Plasma extracellular vesicles were captured with WGA‐conjugated magnetic beads and profiled for RNA biomarkers. A three‐RNA panel (NM_024955, NR_047469, and NR_002564) distinguished prostate cancer from healthy controls and benign prostatic hyperplasia, supporting a simple, noninvasive approach to improve prostate cancer detection.

Heterotropic regulation and negative homotropic cooperativity
We identified a structural module common to some proteins that couple negative cooperativity with heterotropic regulation, two features that rarely coexist. These proteins are ring‐like and present an ordered asymmetry whereby noncontacting subunits are symmetric, and their tertiary structure differs from that of contacting subunits.

The presence of biotin‐binding avidin proteins in fish and their biological significance are poorly characterized. We cataloged fish avidins and demonstrate that they are widely present and evolutionarily conserved. We created avd knockout zebrafish and show that zebavidin is dispensable for development and that resistance of avd knockout embryos in ...

Near-Coulomb-barrier Fusion of 16,18O+52Cr Systems
Near-Coulomb-barrier (near-barrier) fusion of heavy-ions is a complicated reaction process which is related to the quantum tunneling and coupled-channels effect as well as the synthesization of super-heavy elements.
