Derivation of a fourth-order Co-simulation method for linear systems

open access: yesResults in Engineering, 2022
In this article, we present a detailed derivation of a fourth order co-simulation method. This method is implicit and based on Hermite extrapolation with two support points and their derivatives.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Numerical simulation of coupled problems [PDF]

open access: yesWIT Transactions on Modelling and Simulation, 2015
The paper briefly describes one numerical model for the simulation of fluid-structure coupled problems. The presented model is primarily intended to simulate the fluid-structure dynamic interaction in seismic conditions of civil engineering structures which are in direct contactwith fluid and which can often be encountered in engineering practice, for ...

Iterative Electrical–Thermal Coupled Simulation Method of Automotive Power Module Used in Electric Power Steering System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
This paper presents a multi-physics analysis coupling the electrical and thermal properties of a power module. As power modules have multi-physical behaviors, it is important to simulate their multi-physical characteristics.

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status
