We report new measurements and simulations of laser-induced fluorescence in ultracold neutral plasmas. We focus on the earliest times, when the plasma equilibrium is evolving and before the plasma expands.

Coupled Simulations in Plasma Physics with the Integrated Plasma Simulator Platform
AbstractSimulations of fusion plasma obtained in a Tokamak device can involve a wide range of physics phenomena occurring at different scales. Programming such a simulation is challenging and tends to increase the complexity of the code and its maintenance.

Coupled simulation in vehicle engineering [PDF]
AbstractModern vehicles are highly complex systems consisting of many subsystems in various physical domains, e.g. electric, electronic, hydraulic and control systems that dynamically interact. For any subsystem, there are tailored simulation tools with specifically developed and adapted numerical solvers.

ABSTRACT Introduction Glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1 RAs) have demonstrated significant weight‐reducing effects and may offer benefits in idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH); however, recent concerns about the risk of non‐arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) have emerged.

Objective Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) use in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc) is relatively uncommon because of the lower fibrotic burden and the predominance of vascular complications. In vitro observations and clinical data from transplanted patients suggest a protective effect of MMF on endothelial function.

Coupled multi-disciplinary composites behavior simulation [PDF]
The capabilities of the computer code CSTEM (Coupled Structural/Thermal/Electro-Magnetic Analysis) are discussed and demonstrated. CSTEM computationally simulates the coupled response of layered multi-material composite structures subjected to ...

Multiway synchronization verified with coupled simulation
We consider the problem of implementing multiway synchronization in a distributed environment providing only binary asynchronous communication. Our implementation strategy is formulated as a transformation on transition systems and we give a distributed algorithm for multiway synchronization. Correctness assertions and proofs are based on a new method:

Objective Somatic items used in depression assessments can potentially overlap with symptoms related to physical illness, including systemic sclerosis (SSc). No studies have looked at whether somatic depression items may be influenced by diffuse versus limited SSc disease subtypes, which are associated with varying degrees of symptom presentation.

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...
