Gastroschisis‐Like Defect in a Crossbred Bovine Calf: Anatomical, Clinical and Surgical Perspectives

A gastroschisis‐like defect was observed in a one‐day‐old, crossbred bovine calf with evisceration of the pyloric abomasum and small intestine, likely resulting from prenatal rupture of an omphalocele. The calf presented with lethargy, hypothermia and metabolic derangements, along with elevated renal biomarkers.

Prevalence, Molecular Identification, and Antimicrobial Resistance Traits of Pasteurella multocida Isolated From Nasal Swabs of Buffaloes in Bangladesh

Pasteurella multocida was detected in buffalo habitats through culture (49 isolates) and polymerase chain reaction confirmation (29 isolates). Antibiotic susceptibility testing showed high ampicillin resistance, underscoring the emergence of antimicrobial resistance and emphasizing the need for improved surveillance and targeted therapeutic strategies.
