Perinatal Transmission of Coxsackievirus B3 in Mice

Journal of Infectious Diseases, 1987
Oral infection of pregnant mice with coxsackievirus B3 (CB3) late in gestation produced maternal viremia, which peaked three to four days after challenge, then rapidly diminished. Ninety percent of mice developed IgG antibody to CB3 by ten days after challenge.

Intracardiac thrombus in murine coxsackievirus B3 myocarditis

Heart and Vessels, 1992
We studied the appearance of intracardiac mural thrombi with time and the relationship between thrombosis and congestive heart failure (CHF) in murine coxsackievirus B3 (CB3) myocarditis. Four- to six-week-old C3H/He mice were inoculated intraperitoneally with CB3 and were observed for 90 days.

Host Immune Responses to Coxsackievirus B3

2008
Group B coxsackieviruses are members of the picornavirus family of small nonenveloped RNA viruses and have been associated with diseases of multiple organs including the heart, acinar and islet pancreas, liver, skeletal muscle, central nervous system, and testes. Damage to tissues occurs not only from the direct virus replication and infection of cells,

[Coxsackievirus B3 infection and Keshan disease].

Wei sheng yan jiu = Journal of hygiene research, 2003
To study the relationship between the infection of enteroviruses and the etiology of keshan disease, we examined the 30 blood samples from the latent-chronic KD patients from Mianning, Xider, Derchang county of Sichuan Province with LDE-PCR (long distance enterovirus-specific RT PCR), two sensitive and specific ELISAs (one for CVB1-6 IgM and the other ...

Anti-coxsackievirus B3 neutralizing antibodies with pathological potential

European Heart Journal, 1991
Adolescent CD-1 mice inoculated with coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3m) will develop acute myocarditis with focal lesions by 7 days post-inoculation (p.i.). Administration of murine sera containing anti-CVB3m-neutralizing antibodies into CVB3m-inoculated mice at 3 days p.i. will exacerbate myocarditis, suggesting the presence of pathological antibodies.
