Crack opening displacement and the associated response of laminates with varying constraints
This paper reports an experimental study of the opening displacement behavior of 90-ply cracks in a class of composite laminates where the constraint to cracking is varied systematically.

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Fracture properties of dolomite and prediction of fracture toughness based on BP-ANN
In this study, based on the digital image correlation technique, three-point bending tests were conducted on dolomite semi-circular bending (SCB) specimens, and the fracture properties of the SCB specimens, including crack opening displacement, apparent ...

Comparison of the crack pattern in accelerated corrosion tests and in finite elements simulations
In this work, the crack pattern obtained in accelerated corrosion tests is compared to the one obtained in numerical simulations for reinforced steel concrete samples.

Critical Crack Tip Opening Displacement for X70 and X80 Steels - A Parametric Study
High strength line-pipe steels are widely used in long distance gas pipelines. Fracture toughness is one major parameter in the performance evaluation of these line-pipe steels. For high strength line-pipe steels, critical crack tip opening displacement (

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Three-dimensional crack growth in multi-layered architectures for automotive plain bearings
The assessment of shielding and anti-shielding effects on crack growth in multi-layered architectures is achieved using elasto-plastic finite element models.

Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.
