A transverse crack tip field in bimaterial

Acta Mechanica Sinica, 1994
The asymptotic field near an interface crack tip is analyzed with the fully nonlinear theory. By dividing the crack tip field into narrowing sectors and an expanding sector, the asymptotic equations for the crack tip field are derived and solved. The singular characters of stress and strain near the crack tip are revealed.

The elastic crack-tip stress field

1982
Consider a coordinate system X, Y, Z in a stressed solid. In each point (x, y, z) one can define the stresses σ x , σ y , σ z , τ xy , τ xz , τ yz . In a condition of plane stress σ z = τ xz = τ yz = 0. In a condition of plane strain e z = 0 from which it follows that σ z = v(σ x + σ y ).

Crack tip fields in strain gradient plasticity

Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, 1996
Solutions are presented for mode I and mode II crack tip fields for plane strain deformations of an elastic-plastic solid whose constitutive behavior depends on both strains and strain gradients. The constitutive law is the simplest generalization of the J2 deformation theory of plasticity to include strain gradient effects.

Stress Field Around a Rounded Crack Tip

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1991
A method based on the eigenfunction (Williams stress functions) expansion is developed to examine the stress distribution around the tip region of a macrocrack which has some specific micro configuration. In particular, a macrocrack running into a micro hole under mode I condition is analyzed in detail.

Viscoplastic field near a propagating crack-tip

Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 1990
An elastic-viscoplastic constitutive model is proposed instead of the usual elastoplastic model. It is assumed that when crack-tip is approached the viscosity coefficient lends to zero (η=η0r). Asymptotic analysis of the dynamic field near a propagating crack-tip is given, and the uniparameter solution is obtained.
