Crack tip field in thermoelectric media

Abstract The crack problem in a medium possessing coupled thermoelectric effect under thermal-electric loads is considered in this paper. The crack surfaces boundary conditions are assumed to be electrically and thermally impermeable. The general two dimensional solutions are presented in closed-form based on the complex variable method.

Crack-tip fields in anisotropic shells

Asymptotic crack-tip fields including the effect of transverse shear deformation in an anisotropic shell are presented. The material anisotropy is defined here as a monoclinic material with a plane symmetry at x3 = 0. In general, the shell geometry near the local crack tip region can be considered as a shallow shell.

A transverse crack tip field in bimaterial

The asymptotic field near an interface crack tip is analyzed with the fully nonlinear theory. By dividing the crack tip field into narrowing sectors and an expanding sector, the asymptotic equations for the crack tip field are derived and solved. The singular characters of stress and strain near the crack tip are revealed.

Crack-Tip Field of a Supersonic Bimaterial Interface Crack

The sextic approach was used to investigate the asymptotic field of a bimaterial interface crack in the entire supersonic regime and extended to include the combination of isotropic and homogeneous materials, where the sextic method had been considered difficult.
