Energy control of slider-crank mechanism

This paper presents an energy-based control for the rotation velocity of slider-crank mechanism. Firstly, the dynamic equation of the slider-crank mechanism is modeled by projection method. It will be shown that the angular velocity of the wheel can be controlled to the target velocity by energy control strategy.

Slider-Crank is an age-old, well-proven mechanism. In this paper, its application in a manually powered wheelchair is explored. Detailed design is given and a prototype based on the design is also fabricated. It is also compared to existing wheel chairs in the national and international market. Analysis proves that it is better than its counter parts.

Analysis and synthesis of a slider-crank mechanism with a flexibly-attached slider

Abstract The mechanism examined is the common slider-crank mechanism connected in series with a spring and mass, where the spring represents elasticity between the mechanism and an inertial load. Analysis of the mechanism is discussed and a method of approximate synthesis that utilizes precision conditions is developed.

This chapter outlines the development of a linkage-based masticatory device for use in food evaluation that is capable of performing a range of standardised chewing trajectories. The robot design was required to match the trajectory of the first molar and the forces applied on the foods as measured during human chewing experiments performed in-vivo.
