Development of slider-crank based pole climbing robot
2013 IEEE International Conference on Control System, Computing and Engineering, 2013In this paper, a slider-crank based pole climbing robot will be discussed. The robot is designed to climb a pole of perimeter 35cm upward and downward, and its weight is limited to 3kg. It utilizes the combination of slider-crank mechanism for its climbing module and modular mechanism for its gripping module.

Geometric design of slider-crank mechanisms for desirable slider positions and velocities
Forschung im Ingenieurwesen, 2011In problems requiring uniform cutting speeds uniform flow rates etc. slider-crank mechanisms provide economical solutions. Thus, the problem of designing slider-crank mechanisms for desirable slider positions and velocities is handled within a geometric framework in this paper.

A microcantilever system with slider-crank actuation mechanism
Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2015Abstract A microcantilever system with new actuation principle is developed for enhancing the range of tip deflection. Differing from conventional springboard-like actuation principle, the proposed microcantilever system is based on a slider-crank mechanism.

With the Backlash Dynamics Simulation of a Crank-Slider Mechanism
Advanced Materials Research, 2012On the basis of flexible multi-body system dynamics theory, we built flexible multi-body system dynamics models which include a backlash, and to a slider-crank mechanism as the research object, we made a preliminary study on the effect on the flexible components and the backlash of the kinematic pair on mechanical system dynamics characteristics.

Synthesis and Analysis of Slider-Crank Mechanism Motions
Volume 2: 34th Annual Mechanisms and Robotics Conference, Parts A and B, 2010Slider-crank mechanisms used in open/close motion from toggle positions can be driven at the crank by many devices. Usually, the slider motion is defined first to synthesize crank motion. When slider motion has acceleration continuity only, crank acceleration is discontinuous causing shock loading at high speeds.

Synthesis of optimum slider-crank mechanisms
Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1982Abstract For the spatial slider-crank mechanism formulas are obtained to allow the user determine the link sizes and slider offset for a predetermined stroke with an acceptable pressure angle at the extremes of slider travel as well as by a given angle between the crosshead guide of the slider and a plane in which the crank revolves.

Modeling a Slider-Crank Mechanism With Joint Wear
SAE International Journal of Passenger Cars - Mechanical Systems, 2009<div class="htmlview paragraph">The paper presents a study on the prediction of wear for systems in which progressive wear affects the operating conditions responsible for the wear. A simple slider-crank mechanism with wear occurring at one of the joints is used to facilitate the study.

The dynamics of the harmonic space slider-crank mechanism
Journal of Mechanisms, 1966Abstract This paper deals with the distribution of mass in the links of the simple harmonic space slider-crank mechanism to achieve the desirable features of inertia balance and constancy of total kinetic energy during the cycle.
