Synthesis of spatial slider-crank mechanism for given slider stroke and crank length

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1973
Abstract With the end positions of the stroke and the radius of the crank specified, the locus of the fixed end of the crank in the plane of crank rotation can be graphically or analytically determined.

Slider position control for slider-crank mechanisms with Jacobian compensator

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part I: Journal of Systems and Control Engineering, 2019
In this work, a position control for slider-crank mechanisms without Jacobian and joint measurements is presented. A Jacobian compensator that depends on the sign of the direction of rotation of the input link and the output link is proposed. A linear sensor is mounted at the slider to measure its position.

Displacement analysis of slider in slider-crank mechanism with joint clearance

Australian Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2020
Joint clearances need to be specified for the assembly and operation of mechanisms. When the joint clearances are determined while designing, it ensures the robust operation of the mechanism.

Balancing of Slider-Crank Mechanisms

2015
In this Chapter, the balancing methods of slider-crank mechanisms are presented. In Sect. 5.1, the generalized Lanchester balancer is proposed. It allows the balancing of primary and secondary shaking forces of off-set slider-crank mecha-nisms. Section 5.2 deals with the solution of the problem of the shaking force and shaking moment balancing of ...

Energy control of slider-crank mechanism

2008 SICE Annual Conference, 2008
This paper presents an energy-based control for the rotation velocity of slider-crank mechanism. Firstly, the dynamic equation of the slider-crank mechanism is modeled by projection method. It will be shown that the angular velocity of the wheel can be controlled to the target velocity by energy control strategy.

Innovative Application of Slider-Crank Mechanism

2018 Internat2018 International Conference on Computation of Power, Energy, Information and Communication (ICCPEIC)ional conference on computation of power, energy, Information and Communication (ICCPEIC), 2018
Slider-Crank is an age-old, well-proven mechanism. In this paper, its application in a manually powered wheelchair is explored. Detailed design is given and a prototype based on the design is also fabricated. It is also compared to existing wheel chairs in the national and international market. Analysis proves that it is better than its counter parts.

Chaotic And Periodic Dynamics Of A Slider-Crank Mechanism With Slider Clearance

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1994
Abstract The problem of a planar slider-crank mechanism with clearance at the sliding (prismatic) joint is investigated. In this study the influence of the clearance gap size, bearing friction, crank speed and impact parameters on the response of the system are investigated. Three types of responses are observed: chaotic, transient chaos and periodic.

Mechatronic Redesign of Slider Crank Mechanism

Dynamic Systems and Control, 2002
Mechatronic design efforts have been and continue to be heavily investigated in the development of robotic manipulator arms. However, little effort has been devoted to mechatronic redesign of traditional two-dimensional mechanisms which mechanical engineers get exposure to when they study subjects such as kinematics and mechanism design.

Stabilizing slider-crank mechanism with clearance joints

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 2012
Abstract In general, in dynamic analysis of mechanical systems, joints are assumed to be ideal without clearance. When joint clearance is introduced, dynamic response is considerably changed. Degradation of dynamic performance, reduction in components fatigue life and generation of undesirable vibrations result from impacts of mating parts in ...
