GSK-3α Is a Novel Target of CREB and CREB-GSK-3α Signaling Participates in Cell Viability in Lung Cancer. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Overexpression or activation of cyclic AMP-response element-binding protein (CREB) has been known to be involved in several human malignancies, including lung cancer.

N-Methyl-D-aspartate Induces Phosphorylation of cAMP Response Element (CRE)-Binding Protein and Increases DNA-Binding Activity of CRE in Rat Retina

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2004
The aim of this study was to investigate whether an excitotoxic concentration of N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) increases the expression of the phosphorylated cAMP response element-binding protein (p-CREB) and the DNA-binding activity of the cAMP response ...

CREB-binding Protein/p300 Activates MyoD by Acetylation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2000
The myogenic protein MyoD requires two nuclear histone acetyltransferases, CREB-binding protein (CBP)/p300 and PCAF, to transactivate muscle promoters. MyoD is acetylated by PCAF in vitro, which seems to increase its affinity for DNA. We here show that MyoD is constitutively acetylated in muscle cells.

Human Mas-related G protein-coupled receptors-X1 induce chemokine receptor 2 expression in rat dorsal root ganglia neurons and release of chemokine ligand 2 from the human LAD-2 mast cell line [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Primate-specific Mas-related G protein-coupled receptors-X1 (MRGPR-X1) are highly enriched in dorsal root ganglia (DRG) neurons and induce acute pain. Herein, we analyzed effects of MRGPR-X1 on serum response factors (SRF) or nuclear factors of activated

FACI Is a Novel CREB-H–Induced Protein That Inhibits Intestinal Lipid Absorption and Reverses Diet-Induced ObesitySummary

open access: yesCellular and Molecular Gastroenterology and Hepatology, 2022
Background & Aims: CREB-H is a key liver-enriched transcription factor governing lipid metabolism. Additional targets of CREB-H remain to be identified and characterized.

Metformin inhibits androgen-induced IGF-IR up-regulation in prostate cancer cells by disrupting membrane-initiated androgen signaling. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We have previously demonstrated that, in prostate cancer cells, androgens up-regulate IGF-I receptor (IGF-IR) by inducing cAMP-response element-binding protein (CREB) activation and CREB-dependent IGF-IR gene transcription through androgen receptor (AR ...

CREB-binding Protein Activates Transcription through Multiple Domains [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1996
CREB-binding protein (CBP) functions as a coactivator molecule for a number of transcription factors including CREB, c-Fos, c-Jun, c-Myb, and several nuclear receptors. Although binding sites for these factors within CBP have been identified, the regions of CBP responsible for transcriptional activation are unknown.

Frataxin deficiency increases cyclooxygenase 2 and prostaglandins in cell and animal models of Friedreich's ataxia. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
An inherited deficiency of the mitochondrial protein frataxin causes Friedreich's ataxia (FRDA); the mechanism by which this deficiency triggers neuro- and cardio-degeneration is unclear.

Dynamic Regulation of CYP19A1 Promoter Region under Control of CREB Family Members in Endometrial Tissues of Women with Endometriosis: A Case-Control Study [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fertility and Sterility
Background: Endometriosis is an estrogen-dependent disease. Cytochrome P450 aromatase which encoded by CYP19A1 is a key enzyme in the pathway of estrogen biosynthesis.

CREB-binding protein in androgen receptor-mediated signaling [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1998
CREB-binding protein (CBP) is a transcriptional coregulator that interacts with different DNA binding proteins and components of the general transcription machinery. CBP enhanced androgen receptor (AR)-dependent transcription under transient transfection conditions in CV-1 cells. The ligand binding domain (LBD) and residues 38–296 of the N-
