Duality Revelation and Operator-Based Method in Viscoelastic Problems

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
Viscoelastic materials are commonly used in civil engineering, biomedical sciences, and polymers, where understanding their creep and relaxation behaviors is essential for predicting long-term performance.

Hydrogen‐Assisted Fracture of Iron‐Based Fe–Ni–Al Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Principal relations and fracture mechanisms of single‐phase and precipitate‐strengthened Fe–Ni–Al alloys subjected to prior electrochemical hydrogen charging are identified. The mechanisms of hydrogen effect on strength and microhardness are discussed, including hydrogen‐induced increase in microhardness and the role of hydrogen in fracture behavior ...

Generalized Kelvin–Voigt Creep Model in Fractal Space–Time

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, we study the creep phenomena for self-similar models of viscoelastic materials and derive a generalization of the Kelvin–Voigt model in the framework of fractal continuum calculus. Creep compliance for the Kelvin–Voigt model is extended to

An Algebraic Approach for Determining Viscoelastic Moduli From Creep Compliance Through Application of the Generalised Stokes-Einstein Relation and Burgers Model

open access: yesApplied Rheology, 2016
DLS Microrheology involves tracking the time dependent motion or mean square displacement of dispersed tracer particles of known size using Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) in order to determine viscoelastic properties of the dispersion medium.

High‐Temperature Nanoindentation of Metals: Assessing Thermal Drift, Frame Compliance, and Chemical Composition Effects on the Reported Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Modeling Bolt Load Retention of Ca Modified AS41 Using Compliance-Creep Method

open access: yes, 2011
Adequate quantification of the degree of fastener clamp load retained at bolted joint of Mg-Al alloys is crucial to develop new elevated temperature resistant Mg-alloys.

DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING OF PROSTHETIC BELOW KNEE SOCKET BY MODULAR SOCKWT SYSTEM

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2016
The large numbers of terrorist attacks and the difficulty of the situations in Iraq led to the rise of the amputees’ numbers. However, typically 80% of the amputations are trans-tibial (below knee (BK) lower limb amputations). This research included the

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.
