Towards optimisation of load-time conditions for producing viscoelastically prestressed polymeric matrix composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A viscoelastically prestressed polymeric matrix composite (VPPMC) is produced by applying a tensile creep load to polymeric fibres, the load being released before the fibres are moulded into a polymeric matrix.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Compressive Creep Test on Fiber-Reinforced Ultra-High Performance Concrete: Effects of Strain Measuring Method, Specimen Size, Sustained Load Intensity, and Fiber Length

open access: yesBuildings
To solve the difficulties in applying the compressive creep test method for normal concrete to UHPC and to verify the validity of the recently proposed ASTM C 1856 standard test method, this study performed compressive creep tests on UHPC with the ...

Time-scale effect of the creep model parameters and particle flow simulation of sandstone with a single crack

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2019
The creep deformation behaviors of the hard rocks in deep high-stress environment, especially for the fractured hard rocks, cannot be neglected. To investigate the long-term creep deformation behaviors and the creep model for the fractured hard rock, the

Staged thermomechanical testing of nickel superalloys produced by selective laser melting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The creep performance of additively manufactured components remains an issue before additive manufacturing can be put fully implemented. In this study, Inconel 718 two-bar specimens are produced by selective laser melting and subjected to a ‘staged ...

On a Creep Testing Machine and Creep Test Results on Low-Carbon Steel

open access: yesjournal of the Japan Society for Testing Materials, 1953
Present paper explains the newly designed creep testing equipment, testing machine, automatic temperature regulator and apparatus for measuring creep strain, and exhibits some test results on lowcarbon steel. Discussion on the property of low-carbon steel at elevated temperature is added.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
