pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Sign-Changing Critical Point Theory
Many nonlinear problems in physics, engineering, biology and social sciences can be reduced to finding critical points of functionals. While minimax and Morse theories provide answers to many situations and problems on the existence of multiple critical ...

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Existence of Solutions for Higher Order Bvp with Parameters via Critical Point Theory
This paper is concerned with the existence of at least one solution of the nonlinear 2k-th order BVP. We use the Mountain Pass Lemma to get an existence result for the problem, whose linear part depends on several parameters.

Critical Point Theory for Lagrangian Systems
Lagrangian systems constitute a very important and old class in dynamics. Their origin dates back to the end of the eighteenth century, with Joseph-Louis Lagrange's reformulation of classical mechanics.

Deconfinement critical point of heavy quark effective lattice theories
Effective three-dimensional Polyakov loop theories derived from QCD by strong coupling and hopping expansions are valid for heavy quarks and can also be applied to finite chemical potential μ, due to their considerably milder sign problem.

Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Periodic solutions to a class of distributed delay differential equations via variational methods
In this article, we study the existence of periodic solutions to a class of distributed delay differential equations. We transform the search for periodic solutions with the special symmetry of a delay differential equation to the problem of finding ...

Constant sign and nodal solutions for logistic-type equations with equidiffusive reaction
We consider a logistic-type equation driven by the p-Laplace differential operator with an equidiffusive reaction term. Combining variational methods based on critical point theory together with truncation techniques and Morse theory, we show that when $\
