PhoX – an IMAC-enrichable Crosslinking Reagent [PDF]

open access: yesACS Central Science, 2019
AbstractChemical crosslinking mass spectrometry is rapidly emerging as a prominent technique to study protein structures. Structural information is obtained by covalently connecting peptides in close proximity by small reagents and identifying the resulting peptide pairs by mass spectrometry.

Application of proanthocyanidin in the treatment and repair of deep caries

open access: yes口腔疾病防治, 2023
Proanthocyanidin (PA), as a kind of natural plant polyphenol, have a variety of biological functions, such as promoting remineralization, inducing collagen cross-linking, inhibiting protease activity and inhibiting bacteria.

ECL 3.0: a sensitive peptide identification tool for cross-linking mass spectrometry data analysis

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2023
Background Cross-linking mass spectrometry (XL-MS) is a powerful technique for detecting protein–protein interactions (PPIs) and modeling protein structures in a high-throughput manner.

Molecular dynamics simulations with grand-canonical reweighting suggest cooperativity effects in RNA structure probing experiments [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Chem. Theory Comput, 19, 3672 (2023), 2022
Chemical probing experiments such as SHAPE are routinely used to probe RNA molecules. In this work, we use atomistic molecular dynamics simulations to test the hypothesis that binding of RNA with SHAPE reagents is affected by cooperative effects leading to an observed reactivity that is dependent on the reagent concentration.

Cleavage and cross-linking of proteins with osmium (VII) reagents. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Histochemistry & Cytochemistry, 1982
The specific cleavage of proteins following reaction with osmium tetroxide is slowed down by tertiary amines which are known to be good ligands for osmium. Bidentate ligands are more effective than monodentate ligands. These same ligands also promote an intermolecular cross-linking reaction.

Platelet protein organization: analysis by treatment with membrane-permeable cross-linking reagents.

open access: yesBlood, 1982
We have examined platelet protein organization by treatment of intact resting or thrombin-activated platelets with two cross-linking reagents, diamide or dithiobis(succinimidyl propionate) (DTSP).

Mass Spectrometry Evidence for Cisplatin As a Protein Cross-Linking Reagent [PDF]

open access: yesAnalytical Chemistry, 2011
Cisplatin is a potent anticancer drug, which functions by cross-linking adjacent DNA guanine residues. However within 1 day of injection, 65-98% of the platinum in the blood plasma is protein-bound. It is generally accepted that cisplatin binds to methionine and histidine residues, but what is often underappreciated is that platinum from cisplatin has ...

The Signal Sequence Receptor Has a Second Subunit and IsPart of a Translocation Complex in the Endoplasmic Reticulum as Probed by Bifunctional Reagents [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
Bifunctional cross-linking reagents were used to probe the protein environment in the ER membrane of the signal sequence receptor (SSR), a 34-kD integral membrane glycoprotein (Wiedmann, M., T. V. Kurzchalia, E. Hartmarm, and T. A. Rapoport. 1987. Nature

Enzyme-catalysed polymer cross-linking:Biocatalytic tools for chemical biology, materials science and beyond [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Intermolecular cross-linking is one of the most important techniques that can be used to fundamentally alter the material properties of a polymer. The introduction of covalent bonds between individual polymer chains creates 3D macromolecular assemblies ...
