PhoX – an IMAC-enrichable Crosslinking Reagent [PDF]
AbstractChemical crosslinking mass spectrometry is rapidly emerging as a prominent technique to study protein structures. Structural information is obtained by covalently connecting peptides in close proximity by small reagents and identifying the resulting peptide pairs by mass spectrometry.

Molecular dynamics simulations with grand-canonical reweighting suggest cooperativity effects in RNA structure probing experiments [PDF]
Chemical probing experiments such as SHAPE are routinely used to probe RNA molecules. In this work, we use atomistic molecular dynamics simulations to test the hypothesis that binding of RNA with SHAPE reagents is affected by cooperative effects leading to an observed reactivity that is dependent on the reagent concentration.

Cleavage and cross-linking of proteins with osmium (VII) reagents. [PDF]
The specific cleavage of proteins following reaction with osmium tetroxide is slowed down by tertiary amines which are known to be good ligands for osmium. Bidentate ligands are more effective than monodentate ligands. These same ligands also promote an intermolecular cross-linking reaction.

Platelet protein organization: analysis by treatment with membrane-permeable cross-linking reagents.
We have examined platelet protein organization by treatment of intact resting or thrombin-activated platelets with two cross-linking reagents, diamide or dithiobis(succinimidyl propionate) (DTSP).

Mass Spectrometry Evidence for Cisplatin As a Protein Cross-Linking Reagent [PDF]
Cisplatin is a potent anticancer drug, which functions by cross-linking adjacent DNA guanine residues. However within 1 day of injection, 65-98% of the platinum in the blood plasma is protein-bound. It is generally accepted that cisplatin binds to methionine and histidine residues, but what is often underappreciated is that platinum from cisplatin has ...

Enzyme-catalysed polymer cross-linking:Biocatalytic tools for chemical biology, materials science and beyond [PDF]
Intermolecular cross-linking is one of the most important techniques that can be used to fundamentally alter the material properties of a polymer. The introduction of covalent bonds between individual polymer chains creates 3D macromolecular assemblies ...
