Functionalized hyperbranched polymers via olefin metathesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Hyperbranched polymers are highly branched, three-dimensional macromolecules which are closely related to dendrimers and are typically prepared via a one-pot polycondensation of AB_(n≥2) monomers.^1 Although hyperbranched macromolecules lack the ...

Two‐Way Shape Memory Polymer Composite Gripper for Adaptive Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A two‐way shape memory polymer (SMP) composite is developed with intrinsic shape‐changing capability driven solely by temperature, eliminating external actuation loads. Embedding the SMP in a low‐stiffness elastomeric matrix enabled reversible transformations during heating and cooling cycles.

Total synthesis of the indolizidine alkaloid tashiromine

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2008
BackgroundTashiromine (1) is a naturally occurring indolizidine alkaloid. It has been the subject of thirteen successful total syntheses to date. Our own approach centres on the stereoselective construction of the indolizidine core by capture of an ...

Cross Metathesis Assisted Solid-Phase Synthesis of Glycopeptoids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A solid-phase synthesis of glycopeptoids was explored through olefin cross metathesis (CM). Peptoids and sugar derivatives with appropriate olefin moieties were coupled in the presence of an olefin metathesis catalyst to afford glycopeptoids in good ...

A cross-metathesis approach to the stereocontrolled synthesis of the AB ring segment of ciguatoxin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Synthesis of the AB ring segments of ciguatoxin is described. The present synthesis includes a Lewis acid mediated cyclization of allylstannane with aldehyde, cross-metathesis reaction introducing the side chain, and Grieco-Nishizawa dehydration on the A
