Kinetics of anionic polymerization of β‐myrcene in hydrocarbon solvents

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
The process of anionic polymerization of β‐myrcene in hydrocarbon solvents was examined by kinetic studies and quantum chemical calculations. Abstract The kinetics of anionic polymerization of β‐myrcene initiated by sec‐butyllithium were examined in saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbon solvents, i.e. cyclohexane, cyclohexene, 4‐vinylcyclohexene and dl‐

In Situ Curing‐Enabled 3D Printing of Continuous Fiber‐Reinforced Thermosetting Composites

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
In situ curing‐enabled the 3D printing of continuous fiber/thermoset composites, which were reviewed. Particularly, four types of in situ curing, were discussed, including Radiation‐induced curing, photothermal curing, electrothermal curing, and frontal polymerization. AI‐integrated printing was also analyzed.

University teaching of mass spectrometry as a key practical technique within the context of a fully integrated, spiral curriculum

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, EarlyView.
Rationale Mass spectrometry (MS) is introduced to high school students in the UK in many pre‐university course syllabi. As such, we have identified the use of MS as a key technique that should be taught practically to undergraduates from the outset of their studies.

Substituted Pyrroles via Olefin Cross-Metathesis

open access: yesOrganic Letters, 2010
Olefin cross-metathesis (CM) provides a short and convenient entry to diverse trans-γ-aminoenones. When exposed to either acid or Heck arylation conditions, these intermediates are converted to mono-, di-, or trisubstituted pyrroles. The value of this chemistry is demonstrated by its application to the tetrasubstituted pyrrole subunit of Atorvastatin.

Application of Ag‐Enriched Nanostructures Through Ga+ Irradiation of Silver Butyrate Films in Surface‐Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS)

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
We report a direct‐writing method for patterning silver‐enriched nanostructures with dual functionality: High electrical conductivity, with a resistivity of 95 µΩ·cm, and strong SERS activity, achieving enhancement factors exceeding 107. This approach enables an easy and cost‐effective alternative for the production of microstructures with applications
