Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Experimental Absorption Cross Sections for ZrO

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Absorption cross sections for ZrO are provided and can be used as a template to interpret spectra of S-type stars. The ZrO spectrum was measured in emission from a carbon furnace at 2700 K and calibrated using synthetic spectra of ^90 Zr ^16 O.

Inclusive top cross sections in ATLAS

open access: yesSciPost Physics Proceedings
The ATLAS collaboration at the LHC has published inclusive cross-section measurements for the single-top and $t\overline{t}$ production modes at center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s} = 5.02, 8.16$, $13$, and $13.6$ TeV.

Cross sections for 2-to-1 meson–meson scattering

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2021
We study the processes $$K{\bar{K}} \rightarrow \phi $$ K K ¯ → ϕ , $$\pi D \rightarrow D^*$$ π D → D ∗ , $$\pi {\bar{D}} \rightarrow {\bar{D}}^*$$ π D ¯ → D ¯ ∗ , and the production of $$\psi (3770)$$ ψ ( 3770 ) , $$\psi (4040)$$ ψ ( 4040 ) , $$\psi ...

Electron Impact Ionization of Adenine: Partial Cross Sections

open access: yesAtoms, 2022
Electron ionization of a genetically important nucleobase, adenine, was investigated from threshold to 500 eV using crossed electron beam–effusive molecular beam geometry and time-of-flight mass spectrometry.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Neutrino Capture on $^{13}$C

open access: yes, 2012
We present neutrino cross sections on $^{13}$C. The charged-current cross sections leading to various states in the daughter $^{13}N$ and the neutral-current cross sections leading to various states in the daughter $^{13}$C are given.

Isotopic Production Cross Sections in Proton-Nucleus Collisions at 200 MeV [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Intermediate mass fragments (IMF) from the interaction of $^{27}$Al, $^{59}$Co and $^{197}$Au with 200 MeV protons were measured in an angular range from 20 degree to 120 degree in the laboratory system.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Survival Mediated Heavy Element Capture Cross Sections

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
Formally, the cross section for producing a heavy evaporation residue, σEVR, in a fusion reaction can be written as σEVR(E)=πh22μE∑ℓ=0∞(2ℓ+1)T(E,ℓ)PCN(E,ℓ)Wsur(E,ℓ),(1) where E is the center of mass energy, and T is the probability of the colliding ...
