Age-related biological activity of South American rattlesnake (Crotalus durissus terrificus) venom

open access: yesJournal of Venomous Animals and Toxins including Tropical Diseases, 2003
An in vitro and in vivo comparative study was performed on the effects of Crotalus durissus terrificus venoms from a mother and its 15 newborns. The venoms were tested for protein content, lethality, proteolytic, myotoxic, hemorrhagic, and phospholipase ...

Sequence and phylogenetic analysis of viper venom serine proteases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Snakebites are a major neglected tropical disease responsible for as many as 95000 deaths every year worldwide. Viper venom serine proteases disrupt haemostasis of prey and victims by affecting various stages of the blood coagulation system.

Walker 256 tumor growth suppression by crotoxin involves formyl peptide receptors and lipoxin a(4) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We investigated the effects of Crotoxin (CTX), the main toxin of South American rattlesnake (Crotalus durissus terrificus) venom, on Walker 256 tumor growth, the pain symptoms associated (hyperalgesia and allodynia), and participation of endogenous ...

Técnica de inseminação artificial em Crotalus durissus terrificus (Viperidae-Crotalinae)

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Veterinary Research and Animal Science, 1994
Outras 3 tiverarn a gestação levada a termo e produziram filhotes normais. Não foram observados ovos atrésicos.

Characterization of a human coagulation factor Xa-binding site on Viperidae snake venom phospholipases A2 by affinity binding studies and molecular bioinformatics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Background: The snake venom group IIA secreted phospholipases A2 (SVPLA2), present in the Viperidae snake family exhibit a wide range of toxic and pharmacological effects. They exert their different functions by catalyzing the hydrolysis of phospholipids

Structure-function relationship for the highly toxic crotoxin from Crotalus durissus terrificus

open access: yesEuropean Biophysics Journal, 1992
The three-dimensional structure of the highly toxic crotoxin from Crotalus durissus terrificus was modelled based on sequence analysis and the refined structure of calcium-free phospholipase of Crotalus atrox venom. Small-angle x-ray scattering experiments were performed on aqueous solutions of crotoxin.
