Predicting microbial crude protein synthesis in cattle from intakes of dietary energy and crude protein

Journal of Animal Science, 2023
Abstract Accurate predictions of microbial crude protein (MCP) synthesis are needed to predict metabolizable protein supply in ruminants. Since 1996, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine series on beef cattle nutrient requirements has used the intake of total digestible nutrients (TDN) to predict ruminal MCP ...

Content of Crude Protein, Crude Fiber, and Crude Fat Kepok Banana Peel Fermented with SOC at Different Times

The International Conference on Education, Social Sciences and Technology (ICESST), 2023
Banana peel is banana processing waste that can be used as poultry feed, but because of its high crude fiber content, it is necessary to do processing to reduce it, one way is by processing processes such as fermentation. The fermentation process takes time to get good nutritional results.

Excess Crude Protein for Nongravid Gilts

Journal of Animal Science, 1988
Twenty-five nongravid crossbred gilts (avg initial wt, 126 kg) were placed on either a high (38%) or a low (13%) crude protein (CP) diet and fed either at the rate of 1.82 kg/d or had ad libitum access to feed. In addition, a fifth group was pair-fed the 13% CP diet to the average intake of the gilts fed high CP ad libitum.

The apparent digestibility of crude protein by the ruminant: IV. The effect of crude fibre

The Journal of Agricultural Science, 1957
The role of crude fibre in modifying the general equation relating the digestibility coefficient of crude protein to the percentage of crude protein in the dry matter of a feed is described. It is shown that for normal average food-stuffs the effect is slight and that for all practical routine purposes the original equation will provide satisfactory ...

Mitogenic Activities in the Protein Fractions of Crude Drugs

Planta Medica, 1992
Eighteen different crude drugs were extracted with hot water and saline, and protein fractions were prepared from the extracts by ammonium sulfate precipitation. Mitogenic activities of the protein fractions were examined both on human peripheral blood lymphocytes and on mouse spleen cells.

THE RELATION BETWEEN THE CRUDE PROTEIN CONTENT AND THE DIGESTIBLE CRUDE PROTEIN CONTENT OF TROPICAL PASTURE PLANTS

Grass and Forage Science, 1965
The digestible crude protein percentage (DCP) of 218 different feeds derived from 16 tropical grasses and 8 tropical legumes containing 2·2 to 25·3% crude protein (CP) was Treasured with sheep. DCP was closely related to CP (r =· 0·979) and could be predicted from the equation DCP=O·899 CP‐3·25 (SE estimate · 0·84).
