Long-term (35 years) cryopreservation of Echinococcus multilocularis metacestodes

open access: yes, 2020
The metacestode of Echinococcus multilocularis is the etiological agent of alveolar echinococcosis. The metacestode stage used for research is maintained in rodents by serial passages. In order to determine whether cryopreservation of E.

CDK4/6 Inhibition Induces CD8+ T Cell Antitumor Immunity via MIF‐Induced Functional Orchestration of Tumor‐Associated Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CDK4/6 inhibition promotes CD8+ T cell expansion through tumor‐macrophage crosstalk by activating HIF‐1α and enhancing MIF‐CD44/CD74 signaling. This reprograms TAMs to boost MHC‐I antigen presentation, and CDK4/6 inhibitor‐trained M1 TAM supernatant therapy synergizes with low‐dose PD‐1 blockade to restore antitumor immunity.

Oocyte Cryopreservation - Current Scenario and Future Perspectives: A Narrative Review

open access: yesJournal of Human Reproductive Sciences, 2021
Oocyte cryopreservation is a boon for women undergoing assisted reproductive technology. With the evolution in the technique of cryopreservation over the last three decades, there has been an exponential rise in the number of oocyte cryopreservation ...

rWTC‐MBTA Vaccine, Alone and Enhanced with Anti‐PD1, Elicits Immune Responses against CNS and Peripheral B‐Cell Lymphoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An autologous whole‐tumor‐cell vaccine (rWTC‐MBTA) is evaluated in murine CNS lymphoma. Subcutaneous vaccination activates dendritic cells, broadens T‐cell priming, and drives lymphocyte trafficking to brain tumors, producing durable tumor control. Longitudinal bioluminescence and adoptive‐transfer assays verify CNS engagement. Combination with anti‐PD‐

Cryopreservation method for Drosophila melanogaster embryos

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
The development of a widely adopted cryopreservation method remains a major challenge in Drosophila research. Here we report a robust and easily implemented cryopreservation protocol of Drosophila melanogaster embryos.

Time‐Controlled Refrigerated Stem Cell Therapy Mitigates Scleroderma Fibrosis via Modulation of Mitochondrial Autophagy and Gut Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study established an RT‐MSCs‐based therapeutic approach for scleroderma in mice. RT‐MSCs attenuated fibrosis by regulating mitochondrial autophagy and restored gut microbiota homeostasis. Metabolomic analyses confirmed recovery of key metabolites, and RT‐MSCs demonstrated favorable lesion targeting and safety profiles.

Induced encystment improves resistance to preservation and storage of Acanthamoeba castellanii

open access: yes, 2008
Several conditions that allow the preservation, storage and rapid, efficient recovery of viable Acanthamoeba castellanii organisms were investigated. The viability of trophozoites (as determined by time to confluence) significantly declined over a period

The roles of reactive oxygen species and antioxidants in cryopreservation

open access: yesBioscience Reports, 2019
Cryopreservation has facilitated advancement of biological research by allowing the storage of cells over prolonged periods of time. While cryopreservation at extremely low temperatures would render cells metabolically inactive, cells suffer insults ...

Adipocyte‐Derived Leptolin Enhances Energy Expenditure and Prevents Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identified a novel adipokine, which we named leptolin. In humans, leptolin levels in white adipose tissue were positively correlated with exercise and negatively associated with body mass index. We observed elevated leptolin in serum from athletes and lower leptolin in serum from obese individuals.
