Key findings: This study confirmed that the glomerulopathy in CLU‐KO B6 mice was similar to the pathological features of ITG and may be therefore considered as an experimental model of ITG. Further, CLU may negatively regulate the fibrillogenesis of ITG.

Genotypes of milk protein genes, alphaS1-casein (CSN1S1), beta-casein (CSN2), kappa-casein (CSN3) and beta-lactoglobulin (LGB), were detected in 440 individuals of Czech Fleckvieh breed using a PCR-RFLP method.

Genetic diversity of κ-casein (CSN3) and lactoferrin (LTF) genes in the endangered Turkish donkey (Equus asinus) populations [PDF]
In this study, the κ-casein (CSN3) and lactoferrin (LTF) genes which were found in association with milk production traits in different animal species were studied firstly in Turkish donkey populations.

Experimental study design. Mice were immunized with either α‐Lactalbumin or casein, and the resulting pathology of the enteric nervous system (ENS) was assessed using electron microscopy and immunofluorescence imaging. In vitro culture of isolated cells of the ENS was used to complement the in vivo findings.

In this study, a comprehensive single‐cell transcriptome atlas of river and swamp buffalo, encompassing 12 tissues and 397,011 cells, is constructed. Differential expression analyses identify metabolic and secretory tissues and cell types that mediate the divergence of milk production.

Analysis of Population Structure and Selection Signatures in Two Iraqi Fat‐Tailed Sheep Breeds
Awassi sheep exhibit clear genetic separation, whereas Hamdani sheep show an admixed profile, with iHS, ROH and Tajima's D analyses identifying breed‐specific candidate genes. Enrichment in immune response, hormone regulation and cellular signalling pathways highlights adaptive evolution and guides future breeding and conservation.

We analysed the correlations of milk fermentability (yogurt test acidity), renneting (time to rennet coagulation of milk protein) and results of ethanol tests (indirect indicator of milk thermostability) with the percentages of the milk components.

This study unveils the comprehensive genomic landscape of Asian water buffaloes, highlighting how selections drive the evolutionary divergence and genetic differentiation in morphology and productivity of the domesticated buffaloes. Insights into selective sweeps reveal key genes linked to coat color and milk production, offering a deeper understanding

The strength of the influence of polymorphism of the kappa-casein and diacylglycerol o-acyltransferase gene polymorphisms on the economically useful qualities of dairy cattle [PDF]
The aim of the work was to study the strength and reliability of the effect of genotypes of kappacasein (CSN3) and diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase (DGAT1) and their complex combination (CSN3/DGAT1) on 12 economically useful traits of black sow cattle ...
