Using CTCs for pharmacogenomic analysis
In the era of precision medicine in oncology, pharmacogenomic assessment is a vital step in delivering personalized care. Increasing evidence points towards the importance of assessing molecular features of the advanced disease, rather than relying on the primary tumor sample, in order to appreciate the evolution of the tumor and to target relevant ...

A label‐free impedimetric biosensor based on electroactive 3D porous graphene foam enables ultrasensitive and selective detection of CD81 protein and MCF‐7 cell‐derived extracellular vesicles in human serum. Detection limits of 0.048 fg/mL for CD81 and ∼24 EVs/mL are achieved, demonstrating a robust platform for selective, label‐free, and ...

Unraveling the Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Spontaneous Multipolar Mitosis Through CIN‐seq
Multipolar mitosis, a hallmark of chromosomal instability (CIN), drives tumor heterogeneity but is challenging to study in live cells. Using CIN‐seq, a single‐cell multiomics method, we profiled rare CIN events and identified mechanisms associated with viable multipolar mitosis, including PTEN attenuation, Rho GTPase‐driven cytokinesis failure, and ...

Redirecting a Native Ene‐Reductase Toward Desaturation With Reverse Enantioselectivity
A native ene‐reductase, XenA, was repurposed to catalyze the reverse‐enantioselective desaturation of cyclohexanones. The final variant was obtained through extensive protein engineering, combining PROSS‐guided computational design with mutagenesis and screening.

Adipocyte‐Derived Leptolin Enhances Energy Expenditure and Prevents Obesity
We identified a novel adipokine, which we named leptolin. In humans, leptolin levels in white adipose tissue were positively correlated with exercise and negatively associated with body mass index. We observed elevated leptolin in serum from athletes and lower leptolin in serum from obese individuals.

Deep Learning-Based 3D Reconstruction for Defect Detection in Shipbuilding Sub-Assemblies
Overshooting defects in shipbuilding subassemblies are essential to ensure the final product’s overall integrity and safety. In this work, we focus on the automatic detection of overshooting defects in simple and T-shaped sub-assemblies by employing ...
