CTCs in CRC

open access: yes, 2022
The rows represent 188 CRC patients. The columns represent survival paramaters, clinical and pathological features, and the levels of CK20 mRNA-positive CTCs.

Improving CTC-AED model with integrated-CTC and auxiliary loss regularization

open access: yesCoRR, 2023
Connectionist temporal classification (CTC) and attention-based encoder decoder (AED) joint training has been widely applied in automatic speech recognition (ASR). Unlike most hybrid models that separately calculate the CTC and AED losses, our proposed integrated-CTC utilizes the attention mechanism of AED to guide the output of CTC.

Abstract 5367: Identification and clinical value of the circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in the colorectal cancer

open access: yes, 2020
The number of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) hase been found as a promising predictive and diagnostic biomarker of colorectal cancer (CRC). The purpose of the study was to enumerate and characterize CTCs from the CRC patients and evaluate the correlation

Challenges in the Enumeration and Phenotyping of CTC [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Cancer Research, 2012
Abstract Purpose: Presence of circulating tumor cells (CTC) in metastatic carcinoma is associated with poor survival. Phenotyping and genotyping of CTC may permit “real-time” treatment decisions, provided CTCs are available for examination.

Epithelial‐mesenchymal transition may be involved in the immune evasion of circulating gastric tumor cells via downregulation of ULBP1

open access: yesCancer Medicine, 2020
Background Increasing numbers of studies have demonstrated that circulating tumor cells (CTCs) undergo a phenotypic change termed epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT), and researchers have proposed that EMT might provide CTCs with increased potential ...

MMP9 and TYROBP affect the survival of circulating tumor cells in clear cell renal cell carcinoma by adapting to tumor immune microenvironment

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) play a key role in tumor metastasis. CTCs have altered gene expression and can survive in the bloodstream. Finding the key genes whose expression are altered in CTCs could help explain the mechanism of tumor metastasis.

Metabolic classification of circulating tumor cells as a biomarker for metastasis and prognosis in breast cancer

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine, 2020
Background Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) has been demonstrated as a promising liquid biopsy marker for breast cancer (BC). However, the intra-patient heterogeneity of CTCs remains a challenge to clinical application.

Circulating Tumor Cells: Technologies and Their Clinical Potential in Cancer Metastasis

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2021
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are single cells or clusters of cells within the circulatory system of a cancer patient. While most CTCs will perish, a small proportion will proceed to colonize the metastatic niche.
