Gene expression signatures from single‐cell transcriptomics predict Sjögren's syndrome

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
A machine learning‐based 12‐gene signature (SjS.Sig) was developed from scRNA‐seq data of PBMCs from Sjögren's syndrome patients. The model was validated using bulk RNA‐seq datasets and further confirmed through flow cytometry and qPCR analysis in an independent clinical cohort, demonstrating robust diagnostic potential.

Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors Induce Intestinal Epithelial Injury and a Senescence‐Like Phenotype

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ICI treatment promotes the infiltration of activated immune cells into the intestinal mucosa. This inflammatory microenvironment is associated with significant epithelial injury, characterized by the disruption of the epithelial barrier, the depletion of specialized secretory cell lineages, and the induction of a premature senescence phenotype ...

Cellular localisation of CTLA-4 chimeras.

open access: yes, 2013
A. CHO cells expressing CTLA-4 chimeras were incubated with unlabeled anti-CTLA-4 Ab at 37°C for 1 hour, cooled to 4°C and surface CTLA-4 stained red with anti-mouse Alexa 555.

The T‐Cell Response Mechanism in Human Papillomavirus‐Associated Cervical Cancer and New Strategies for Immunotherapy

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a double‐stranded DNA virus that infects human skin and mucosal tissues exclusively. The German scientist Harald zur Hausen was awarded the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discovery of the link between HPV infection and cervical cancer.

Ovarian Cancer: Epidemiology, Disease Mechanisms, New Diagnosis and Treatment Strategies, and Research Directions

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ovarian cancer (OC) continues to be the deadliest gynecological malignancy and a significant cause of cancer‐related mortality among women worldwide. Standard treatment strategies typically entail platinum‐based chemotherapy in conjunction with cytoreductive surgery.

Reconceptualizing Aplastic Anemia—Seed, Worm, Soil

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Aplastic anemia (AA) encompasses a group of hematological syndromes often misdiagnosed, resulting in a decrease in the overall blood cell count and representing a form of bone marrow failure. We reinterpret AA based on the “seed, worm, and soil” doctrine.

1) Investigation of the clathrin-dependent internalisation of Cytotoxic T Lymphocyte Antigen-4 2) Analysis of the antigen-specific cytokine responses of CD4+ T lymphocytes

open access: yes, 2011
1) Cytotoxic T Lymphocyte Antigen-4 (CTLA-4) is a key inhibitory regulator of T-cell function. Its expression is predominantly intracellular however, many theories surrounding it’s inhibitory action do not account for its endocytic behaviour.

Alopecia Areata in a Patient Receiving Cemiplimab for Metastatic Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Alopecia areata (AA) is an autoimmune disease characterized by non‐scarring hair loss of the scalp and/or body, with an unpredictable and variable clinical course. Its etiology is not entirely understood, although evidence suggests that environmental, immunological, and genetic factors contribute to disease development.

Evolving clinical profile of IL-1β, IL-10 and CTLA-4 gene in rheumatoid factor positive Caucasian population

open access: yes, 2011
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a systemic autoimmune condition, causes joint damage and sometimes extra-articular lesions (cutaneous vasculitis, neuropathy, Felty’s syndrome, pericarditis, intersticial lung disease) that may be life threatening.
