Molecular Modeling for Better Understanding of Cucumovirus Pathology
Advances in Virus Research, 2018Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) is a small RNA virus capable of infecting a wide variety of plant species. The high economic losses due to the CMV infection made this virus a relevant subject of scientific studies, which were further facilitated by the small size of the viral genome.

Biolistic inoculation of gladiolus with cucumber mosaic cucumovirus
Journal of Virological Methods, 2005A new method of inoculation of gladiolus with cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) was developed using the Bio-Rad Helios Gene Gun System. This method circumvents the traditional use of aphids to transmit CMV, a virus that is mechanically transmissible to many plant species but only with difficulty to gladiolus.

Nucleotide sequence of RNA 3 of peanut stunt cucumovirus
Virology, 1991The nucleotide sequence of the RNA 3 of the peanut stunt virus strain J (PSV-J) was determined and compared with those of the cucumber mosaic virus strain Y (CMV-Y, subgroup I) and the tomato aspermy virus strain C (TAV-C) at both the nucleotide and protein levels.

Characterization of cucumber mosaic cucumovirus isolates in Greece
Plant Pathology, 1999Since 1990, massive cucumber mosaic cucumovirus (CMV) outbreaks of various symptomatology, especially on tomato, have been observed all over Greece. To characterize local virus populations, 40 CMV isolates of different origin and symptomatology in the field and glasshouse were examined for subgroup identification and presence of ...

Subcellular localization of cucumovirus-associated satellite double-stranded RNAs
Plant Science, 1987Abstract Viral satellites are small RNAs that depend on the presence of the specific helper virus for replication and that can modulate viral disease expression. The in vivo subcellular location of the double-stranded (ds) form of different Cucumovirus-associated satellite RNAs, which accumulate in large quantities in infected tobacco plants, is ...
