Ende Juli 2011 wurde an Früchten von Steirischen Ölkürbissen (Cucurbita pepo var. styriaca) Phyllosticta cucurbitacearum nachgewiesen. Dies ist der erste Nachweis dieses Pilzes an Ölkürbis in Österreich.
