Adaptation of cotton cultivars
A set of 12 cotton genotypes were evaluated during the main growing seasons, from 1985 to 1990 at Abobo , which is characterised by low elevation (530 meters above sea level) and a sub-humid climate. The same genotypes were tested in all years. Combined analysis of yield data indicated significant differences among genotypes and environments.

Mobilizing mine lands for biobased decarbonization strategies
Abstract Over 163 000 ha of mine lands in Pennsylvania (PA) have the potential to produce willow as a feedstock for renewable energy generation. Each year these lands could produce between 454 000 and 907 000 dry Mg of willow, which can be a feedstock for bioenergy (i.e., biopower) with carbon capture and sequestration (BECCS) or sustainable aviation ...

New solvents for extracting gallic acid from chestnut shells: deep eutectic solvents
Abstract Chestnut (Castanea sativa Mill.) shell, a byproduct of chestnut processing, is a valuable source of phenolic compounds that have a range of industrial applications. This study investigated the optimization of gallic acid extraction from the outer shell of the chestnut using ultrasound‐assisted extraction (UAE) and deep eutectic solvents (DES).

ABSTRACT Xanthomonas arboricola pv. juglandis is the causal agent of walnut blight, a disease affecting Juglans regia L. cultivations by causing severe economic losses worldwide. The content of phenolic compounds in J. regia cultivars plays an important role in determining the resistance or susceptibility to the infection. In this study, the assessment

Increased genetic diversity improves crop yield stability under climate variability: a computational study on sunflower [PDF]
A crop can be represented as a biotechnical system in which components are either chosen (cultivar, management) or given (soil, climate) and whose combination generates highly variable stress patterns and yield responses. Here, we used modeling and simulation to predict the crop phenotypic plasticity resulting from the interaction of plant traits (G ...
