Selection of medium for serum-free primary culture of adult rat hepatocytes.
To select a suitable medium for serum-free primary culture of adult rat hepatocytes, ten commercially-available synthetic media were compared for their ability to maintain the cells under serum-free and serum-supplemented conditions with special ...

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Serum‐Free Japanese Encephalitis Virus Production in a Single‐Use Fixed‐Bed Bioreactor
Fixed‐bed bioreactors for anchorage‐dependent cells are an obvious choice for development because of their large‐scale capabilities, allowing manufacturing with reduced cost and footprint.

Serum-free culturing of mammalian cells - adaptation to and cryopreservation in fully defined media
Long term storage of living cells is a central issue in cell biology and medicine. In addition to the cryoprotectant dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO), foetal bovine serum (FBS) is often added to the freezing medium for the cryoconservation of serum dependent cell lines.

Upregulation of Adipogenesis and Chondrogenesis in MSC Serum-Free Culture
Serum-free media have been shown to be effective in the expansion of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). However, the effects may go beyond cell expansion as the differentiation potentials of the cells may be modified, thus influencing their efficacy for ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.
