Demethoxycurcumin Is A Potent Inhibitor of P-Type ATPases from Diverse Kingdoms of Life. [PDF]
P-type ATPases catalyze the active transport of cations and phospholipids across biological membranes. Members of this large family are involved in a range of fundamental cellular processes.

Abstract Background This study evaluated the influence of four drying techniques—freeze drying (FZD), microwave drying (MCD), oven drying (OVD), and sun drying (SUD)—on the bioactive, nutritional, and physical properties of turmeric. Using standard analytical procedures, the samples were examined for antioxidant activity (DPPH and ABTS assays), total ...

Nitric Oxide Scavenging by Curcuminoids
AbstractBecause curcumin, a compound with anti-inflammatory and anticancer activity, inhibits induction of nitric oxide synthase in activated macrophages and has been shown to be a potent scavenger of free radicals we have investigated whether it can scavenge nitric oxide directly.Curcumin reduced the amount of nitrite formed by the reaction between ...

STAT-3 and STAT-1 signaling have opposite effects in oncogenesis with STAT-3 acting as an oncogene and STAT-1 exerting anti-oncogenic activities through interferon-γ and interferon-α. The cytokine IL-6 promotes oncogenesis by stimulation of NFκB and STAT-

The Role of Polyphenols in Respiratory and Gut Health: From the Perspective of Gut‐Lung Axis
ABSTRACT The gut‐lung axis constitutes a dynamic, multidirectional communication platform between the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts. Its complexity arises from the integrated crosstalk among the microbiota, immune system, and redox homeostasis, collectively influencing disease susceptibility and progression.
