Improving the Photochemical Skeletal Enlargement of Pyridines to 1,2‐Diazepines with Isocyanates
Abstract In this work, we extend the one‐pot protocol to synthesize 1,2‐diazepines from commercially available and cheap starting materials. Capitalizing on isocyanate derivatives as activating agents, the photochemical skeletal enlargement occurs, while preserving key functional groups embedded in more than 30 substrates.

On the Rearrangement Conjecture for Generalized Factor Order Over $\mathbb{P}$ [PDF]
The Rearrangement Conjecture states that if two words over $\mathbb{P}$ are Wilf-equivalent in the factor order on $\mathbb{P}^\ast$ then they are rearrangements of each other. We introduce the notion of strong Wilf-equivalence and prove that if two words over $\mathbb{P}$ are strongly Wilf-equivalent then they are rearrangements of each other.

Carbamate‐Functionalized NLOphores via a Formal [2+2] Cycloaddition‐Retroelectrocyclization Strategy
This study introduces carbamate donor groups for activating click‐type [2+2] cycloaddition‐retroelectrocyclizations, enabling tunable chromophores with λmax values of 363–692 nm. Positive solvatochromism, protonation experiments, and TD‐DFT studies support the charge transfer characteristics of the chromophores. NLO properties were investigated via the

We report a Sc(OTf)3‐catalyzed cycloaddition of highly strained bicyclo[1.1.0]butane carboxylates with protected aziridines. In this transformation, highly functionalized 2‐azabiyclo[3.1.1]heptanes are accessed in single step under mild conditions. This is an example of strain‐release driven transformation, where two highly strained rings combine to ...

Multidimensional Probabilistic Rearrangement Invariant Spaces: A New Approach [PDF]
We introduce and investigate in this paper a new convenient method of introduction of a norm in the multidimensional rearrangement probability invariant space.

Interplay of rearrangements, strain, and local structure during avalanche propagation [PDF]
Jammed soft disks exhibit avalanches of particle rearrangements under quasistatic shear. We follow the avalanches using steepest descent to decompose them into individual localized rearrangements. We characterize the local structural environment of each particle by a machine-learned quantity, softness, designed to be highly correlated with ...

Studies Toward the Total Synthesis of Antibiotic 593A [PDF]
In 1970 art article was published in the Journal of Antibiotics in which the isolation of a substance from the south African soil microorganism Streptomyces griseolutus designated 593A (NSC-135758) was reported.

The Rearrangement Number [PDF]
How many permutations of the natural numbers are needed so that every conditionally convergent series of real numbers can be rearranged to no longer converge to the same sum? We define the \emph{rearrangement number}, a new cardinal characteristic of the continuum, as the answer to this question. We compare the rearrangement number with several natural

The Photodimer from B-Nitrostyrene [PDF]
Photodimerization of β-nitrostyrene by sunlight or a mercury arc lamp yields l,3-diphenyl-2,4-dinitrocyclobutane (II). Only one stereoisomer was obtained.

Object Rearrangement with Nested Nonprehensile Manipulation Actions [PDF]
This paper considers the problem of rearrangement planning, i.e finding a sequence of manipulation actions that displace multiple objects from an initial configuration to a given goal configuration. Rearrangement is a critical skill for robots so that they can effectively operate in confined spaces that contain clutter.
